Tasks

During the first 8-month practical phase in Ghana, you will work on the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency for Climate Protection project, addressing Ghana’s energy challenges:

• Develop training materials on net metering and the integration of decentralized, grid-connected renewable energy.
• Support policy advisory efforts to enhance renewable energy regulations.
• Assist GIZ consultants and state-owned electricity providers (ECG & NEDCo) in conducting grid capacity studies for solar power (PV electricity).
• Establish an energy efficiency network for industrial and commercial enterprises, including staff training.
• Identify renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions suitable for Ghanaian industries.

Subsequent assignments in international organizations and BMZ will be tailored to align with your experience and career goals.

Qualifications

Education and Certification

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Energy Policy, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• Strong academic background in energy policy, grid integration, and energy financing.

Experience

• Some prior experience (internships count) in renewable energy, energy efficiency, or policy development.
• Understanding of international development cooperation.
• Experience working in a developing country is a plus.
