Within UN Women, the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) plays a vital role in supporting grassroots, women-led organizations across conflict zones and areas affected by humanitarian crises. Since its launch in 2016, WPHF has backed nearly 1,000 civil society organizations across 41 countries.

The WPHF Secretariat, hosted by UN Women, is responsible for supporting the Fund’s operations. This includes managing partnerships, resource mobilization, technical support, internal and external communications, monitoring, and knowledge management.

The Programme Analyst (P2) will report directly to the WPHF Programme Coordinator and play a key role in implementing and managing WPHF’s portfolio across Europe, Asia, the Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean. This Geneva-based full-time position is a 364-day temporary contract.


Tasks

1. Technical Contributions to Funding Allocations

  • Provide input into funding allocations and initiatives aligned with WPHF’s mandate.
  • Support the design of funding mechanisms under various initiatives including the Spotlight Initiative and Forced Displacement Initiative.
  • Contribute to the development of WPHF’s Women in Climate Security portfolio.

2. Portfolio Management & Implementation

  • Coordinate calls for proposals, organize information sessions for applicants.
  • Review applications, conduct shortlisting, and contribute to the selection process.
  • Monitor project implementation across target regions.

3. Capacity Building and Technical Support

  • Offer technical assistance to Management Entities in implementing the Fund’s initiatives.
  • Identify training and development opportunities for partners.
  • Contribute to the growth and facilitation of WPHF’s Learning Hub and Community of Practice.

4. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Track programmatic progress and financial utilization.
  • Draft country-level and portfolio-level reports.
  • Contribute to donor reports and ad hoc reporting requirements.

5. Advocacy, Outreach & Partnership Development

  • Prepare communications materials such as briefs, speeches, and background documents.
  • Coordinate WPHF-related events and meetings.
  • Engage with stakeholders and partners to amplify program visibility.

6. Other Duties

  • Perform additional tasks within the functional profile to support the Secretariat and UN Women as needed.

Qualifications

Education and Certification

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, gender studies, human rights, international development, or a relevant field is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree plus two additional years of experience may be accepted in place of a master’s degree.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in programme implementation, monitoring, and coordination.
  • Proven work experience in one or more of the following regions is essential: Europe, Asia, the Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
  • Familiarity with women, peace, and security or humanitarian action programming.
  • Experience working with global, multi-partner funds and complex program environments.

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish is highly desirable.
