The Senior Project Manager, Information Systems position sits within the Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) Department, a core operational function responsible for managing, optimizing, and advancing the organization’s technology ecosystem. The department oversees long-term systems architecture planning, cybersecurity, infrastructure, risk management, user support, and enterprise system enhancements.
In this role, the Senior Project Manager reports to the Senior Associate Director, Information Systems and manages a portfolio of technical systems projects from intake through delivery and post-launch support. These projects vary in size and complexity and often span multiple departments, platforms, and stakeholders. A key aspect of the role is ensuring alignment between systems, business needs, and organizational strategy, while maintaining clear communication with leadership and project partners.
This is a US Flexible (remote) position, allowing exceptional candidates to work from the San Francisco office or from other locations within the United States, with geographic pay differentials applied. The role is well suited to experienced professionals who thrive in complex, mission-driven environments and want to apply their technical project management expertise to climate action and systems change.

Tasks
The Senior Project Manager, Information Systems is responsible for leading and coordinating multiple initiatives across the full project lifecycle. Key duties include:
- Managing a portfolio of technical systems projects from intake, prioritization, and scope definition through implementation, delivery, and ongoing support
- Overseeing multiple concurrent projects, ranging from small system enhancements to large-scale, cross-functional implementations
- Developing comprehensive project plans for complex, multi-system initiatives with significant resource requirements
- Managing project scope, timelines, dependencies, and risks while proactively identifying solutions to keep work on track
- Identifying commonalities, interdependencies, and operational impacts across projects to ensure efficient sequencing and execution
- Facilitating deep collaboration with internal teams to conduct needs assessments for current and future initiatives
- Managing project documentation, communications, deliverables, and engagement with internal and external partners
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation, better user experience, and increased system adoption
- Documenting technical workflows and business processes to support system enhancements
- Preparing user stories, acceptance criteria, process flow diagrams, and requirement documentation
- Leading cross-functional teams through challenges while maintaining alignment and momentum
- Creating reporting and communication frameworks that keep senior leadership informed of project status, risks, and opportunities
This role requires a strong balance of technical understanding, strategic thinking, and people leadership.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
- A bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business, or a related field is typically expected
- Formal project management training or certification (such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar) is an advantage
- Salesforce-related training or certifications are considered an asset
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in technical or systems project management roles
- At least 4 years of experience working with Salesforce in a relevant capacity
- Demonstrated experience managing system integrations and enterprise-level implementations
- Proven success delivering technology projects that impact multiple departments
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong experience conducting needs analysis, prioritization, and impact evaluation
- Excellent communication, organization, risk mitigation, and problem-solving skills
- High proficiency with project management tools, frameworks, and reporting methods
- Comfort leading through change and improving organizational systems and processes
Preferred experience includes Salesforce administration, consulting environments, data taxonomies, Tableau or similar visualization tools, Snowflake, and data pipelines.

- Salary Range (Bay Area / NYC): USD 130,000 – 140,000 per year
- Salary Range (Other US Locations): USD 120,000 – 130,000 per year
