The Roster of Interns (open call) is designed to create a pool of qualified internship candidates who may be selected for assignments throughout 2026, depending on organizational needs. Rather than applying for a single internship post, candidates apply to join a roster, which UNDP Serbia can draw from when internship opportunities arise across different projects and portfolios.
The purpose of this internship programme is to give students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds exposure to real-world development work and insight into the day-to-day operations of a UN country office. Interns are placed under the guidance of Project or Portfolio Managers and contribute to substantive, operational, and communication-related tasks.

UNDP Serbia Opens Internship Roster for Students & Recent Graduates 2026
Tasks
Under the supervision of Project or Portfolio Managers, interns included in the UNDP Serbia roster may be assigned tasks such as:
- Supporting research, analysis, and studies conducted under specific projects or portfolios
- Identifying and compiling national data sources, and translating relevant information into English when required
- Researching regional, EU, and global data to compare Serbia’s progress with other countries
- Providing operational, logistical, and administrative support for online and in-person trainings, workshops, conferences, and events
- Assisting with communication activities, including content preparation and outreach
- Supporting the organization of events by preparing invitations, managing logistics, and assisting during sessions
- Attending conferences and meetings and contributing to follow-up actions and documentation
- Providing information management and executive support to senior management when required
- Assisting with external relations activities and stakeholder engagement
- Performing other duties within the scope of the project or portfolio, as assigned
Internships may be full-time or part-time, depending on office needs and the intern’s availability.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria at the time of application:
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (Master’s level or higher)
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a Bachelor’s degree programme or equivalent
- Have recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme and be able to start the internship within one year of graduation
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship programme and undertake the internship as part of that programme
There is no specific field of study required, making this internship accessible to candidates from diverse academic disciplines relevant to development.
Experience
- Previous work experience is not mandatory, but any exposure to research, project support, public administration, development work, or civil society activities is an asset
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Full computer literacy and confidence using digital tools
- Ability to work in multicultural and diverse environments
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Language Requirements:
- Excellent written and spoken English is required
- Knowledge of Serbian is considered a strong asset
