About the Research Methodology Course
The Department of Humanities and Management at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar (NITJ), with sponsorship from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, is organising a free 10-day research methodology course.
The programme, titled “Data-Driven Research Methods in Social Sciences and Academic Research Integrity,” will take place from 14–24 December 2026 at NIT Jalandhar, Punjab, India.
What Participants Will Learn
The course covers research methods and data-analysis topics including:
- Research design and literature reviews
- Systematic literature reviews and bibliometric analysis
- Qualitative and mixed-methods research
- Sampling and hypothesis testing
- Regression, mediation and moderation
- Time-series and panel-data analysis
- Experimental research
- Natural Language Processing and sentiment analysis
- Machine learning and text mining
- Explainable AI
- Academic writing and publication ethics
- Research integrity and peer review
Participants will also receive practical exposure to tools such as STATA, SmartPLS, NVivo/ATLAS.ti and reference-management software.
Who Can Apply?
The programme is open to applicants currently enrolled in a Postgraduate, PhD or Post-Doctoral Fellowship programme at an eligible institution.
Applicants must be affiliated with a recognised institution such as a UGC-recognised university, deemed-to-be university, eligible college, Institute of National Importance, ICSSR research institute or another recognised institution. The application must be forwarded by the competent authority of the applicant’s institution.
Only 30 participants will be selected.
Accommodation and Travel Support
Selected participants will not pay a registration fee.
Accommodation arrangements will be made for outstation participants. Eligible participants may also receive reimbursement for second-class/sleeper-class railway or bus travel through the shortest route, up to INR 1,000, subject to the required original tickets.
Participants must attend all sessions and bring their own laptop. Those who complete the course will receive a certificate.

How to Apply
Applicants must complete the official registration form and have it forwarded by their supervisor and Head of Department or institution.
A scanned PDF of the completed registration form must then be uploaded through the online application form before the deadline. Selected participants must bring the original registration form on the first day.
