Background & Job Description
The Pacific Community (SPC) is recruiting a Socio-Economic Data Analysis Assistant in Fiji.
The role will support data analysis for the Vulnerability Assessment of Pacific Agriculture and Forestry to Climate Change publication and contribute to a priority framing note focused on strengthening agriculture and forestry statistics for Pacific Island Countries and Territories.
The position is connected to SPC’s Land Resources Division, which works on resilient agriculture, forestry, livelihoods, food and nutrition security, and sustainable land management.
Tasks
The successful candidate will support:
- Consolidating data into a reference database.
- Organizing socio-economic and technical information.
- Data cleaning, tabulation, and basic analysis.
- Compiling data for the priority framing note.
- Extracting data and references for publication chapters.
- Supporting research and infographic teams.
- Coordinating meetings with consultants and contributing authors.
- Preparing meeting minutes.
Qualifications
Education
Applicants should have a tertiary qualification in agriculture, agricultural economics, agribusiness, or an equivalent body of knowledge and experience.
Experience
Candidates should have:
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience within the Pacific region.
- Experience organizing, cleaning, or extracting data.
- Experience maintaining research records and references.
- Experience supporting meetings involving diverse stakeholders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Excellent written and spoken English is required.
