Background & Job Description

For over 50 years, GIZ has been at the forefront of international development cooperation, supporting projects that promote economic growth, climate resilience, and sustainable energy solutions. Operating in 120 countries, GIZ collaborates with governments, civil society, and private sector partners to implement high-impact programs that align with global development policy goals.

This Communication Internship is part of the German Energy Solutions Initiative, coordinated and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The initiative is designed to promote climate-friendly energy technologies worldwide, leveraging Germany’s decades-long expertise in renewable energy innovation.

Within this framework, the Project Development Programme (PDP) plays a key role by working with local commercial and industrial companies in developing countries to pre-develop renewable energy projects. The PDP team provides neutral technical advice, facilitates partnerships between local and German companies, and promotes market development through training, studies, and reference projects.

The internship offers the chance to work at the intersection of renewable energy, communication, and international development, contributing to economic development, global energy transition, and climate change mitigation efforts.

As a Communication Intern, you will assist the PDP team with content creation, political and legal research, internal communications, and project management support, ensuring the effective promotion of sustainable energy solutions globally.
