Tasks
The Regional Data Analyst will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Conduct and coordinate comprehensive regional, sub-regional, and thematic data analysis on migration dynamics, trends, and patterns.
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, and strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
- Utilize data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to produce informative and visually impactful reports, dashboards, and information products.
- Identify data gaps in migration and human mobility data, and coordinate with relevant units to develop tools and mechanisms to fill these gaps.
- Provide analytical support and capacity building to Country Offices in the region on data management and reporting.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
A Master’s degree or equivalent in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Management, Social Sciences, or a related field from an accredited academic institution is typically required. Specialized training or certification in SQL, advanced data analysis techniques, or Business Intelligence (BI) tools is highly desirable.
Experience
Applicants for this senior regional position should possess:
- A minimum of four to six years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, research, and report writing, preferably within a regional context.
- Proven expertise in the application of quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods and working with large datasets.
