Tasks
As a Project Management Intern in Innovation, you will perform a variety of crucial support functions:
- Project Support & Reporting: Assist the Project/Programme Managers with project implementation, monitoring, and quality assurance, including tracking deadlines and developing progress reports and newsletters.
- Data & Research: Conduct desk reviews, background research, and data analysis to identify and synthesize information on innovation best practices, sustainable development, and new partnership opportunities.
- Knowledge Management: Support the development of tools, guides, and learning materials related to Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) and Knowledge Management (KM) practices.
- Communication & Events: Assist in documenting projects, drafting communication content (blogs, social media updates), and coordinating logistics for virtual, hybrid, or in-person events and meetings.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Education: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. university programme, OR must have graduated from such studies within three (3) years prior to the application date.
- Preferred Study Area: Degrees in Project Management, Innovation Management, International Relations, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Media and Communications, or a related field are often preferred.
Experience
- Professional Experience: While no professional experience is required for the internship, previous experience in administrative support, data analysis, research, or project assistance is considered a significant asset.
- Skills: Strong organizational and coordination skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory. Proficiency in Google Suite/Workspace (Docs, Sheets) or Microsoft Office is also required.
Additional Information
These UNOPS internships are typically offered for a duration of six months with the possibility of extension. Interns are generally eligible for a monthly stipend, provided they are not receiving funding from another institution. Depending on the duty station and individual circumstances, a one-time travel lump sum for relocation may also be offered. Please note that an internship with UNOPS is not designed to lead to a staff position.
