About the Senior Data Analyst Role
The organisation is continuing to develop its data-governance, data-quality and data-platform capabilities.
The Senior Data Analyst will play an important role in this transformation by helping create trusted, consistent and usable data across the business.
Rather than focusing exclusively on reporting or dashboard creation, this position has a strong emphasis on data governance frameworks, ownership, metadata, quality monitoring and organisational data standards.
The employee will collaborate with teams across the organisation to improve how important information is defined, maintained and used.
Developing Data Governance Frameworks
One of the main responsibilities involves supporting the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, standards and processes.
Data governance establishes how an organisation manages important information throughout its lifecycle.
This can involve defining responsibilities, setting standards and ensuring data is accurate, secure and suitable for business decision-making.
Candidates should therefore have a strong understanding of established data-governance principles.
The vacancy specifically refers to industry best practices such as DAMA-DMBOK.
Defining Critical Data Elements
The successful candidate will work with stakeholders to identify and define critical data elements.
These are pieces of information considered especially important for business operations, reporting, regulatory requirements, or strategic decision-making.
The Senior Data Analyst will also help establish:
Data ownership models
and:
Data-quality expectations.
This requires an ability to communicate effectively with both business stakeholders and technical professionals.
Improving Data Quality
Data quality is another major focus of the position.
The analyst will develop and maintain:
- Data-quality rules
- Monitoring processes
- Reporting
- Remediation processes
The objective is to increase confidence in the organisation’s information.
A strong candidate should understand how to identify data-quality problems, investigate their causes, and develop practical ways to improve the reliability of information.
Data Governance Tools
The position also involves supporting the adoption and effective use of specialised governance technologies.
These can include platforms for:
Data cataloguing
Metadata management
and:
Data quality.
Experience implementing or working with these types of systems could therefore strengthen an application.
The role combines technical understanding with organisational adoption, meaning the employee may need to help colleagues understand why governance tools matter and how to use them correctly.
Working With Snowflake
The vacancy places significant emphasis on Snowflake, a modern cloud data platform widely used by large organisations.
The successful candidate may work with Snowflake capabilities including:
Horizon Catalog
Streamlit
Metric Functions
and:
Trust Centre.
Candidates with direct Snowflake experience should highlight this clearly on their CV.
The position is officially described as Senior Data Analyst (Snowflake), making Snowflake knowledge particularly relevant.
Informatica Experience
Experience with Informatica technologies is described as highly advantageous.
The job description specifically mentions:
Informatica Cloud Data Governance Catalog (CDGC)
and:
Cloud Data Quality (CDQ).
Applicants who have worked with these platforms should clearly explain what they used them for rather than simply listing the software under a skills section.
Relevant experience could include data cataloguing, metadata management, quality monitoring, governance or stewardship processes.
dbt and Master Data Management
Experience with:
dbt
and:
Master Data Management
would also be advantageous.
dbt is frequently used within modern analytics environments to transform and manage data, while Master Data Management helps organisations establish consistent and trusted records across business systems.
These skills reinforce the technical focus of the position on scalable and reliable data infrastructure.
Data Ownership and Stewardship
An important part of the role involves helping business teams develop a stronger sense of ownership over their data.
The successful candidate will work with different departments to promote:
Data ownership
Data stewardship
and:
A data-driven culture.
This means the role requires more than technical ability.
Candidates must be capable of influencing colleagues, explaining governance concepts, and helping people understand their responsibilities for maintaining reliable data.
Training and Supporting Colleagues
The Senior Data Analyst will provide guidance, training and support to colleagues.
This is designed to improve their understanding of trusted data and how it should be used.
Strong communication skills are therefore essential.
Candidates should be comfortable simplifying technical concepts for people who may not have extensive data experience.
Communication Skills
The employer is looking for someone who can operate confidently between:
Technical teams
and:
Business stakeholders.
This is an important requirement.
A technically strong candidate who cannot communicate findings or governance requirements clearly may struggle in this particular role.
Applicants should demonstrate an ability to translate complex data concepts into practical business outcomes.
Analytical Skills
The successful candidate should also possess a strong analytical mindset.
This means being able to:
Identify problems
Assess data quality
Understand patterns
Evaluate business requirements
and:
Develop practical solutions.
Because data governance often involves complex organisational challenges, analysts may need to investigate issues across multiple systems and departments.
Who Should Apply?
The position may suit professionals with experience in areas including:
- Data analysis
- Data governance
- Data quality
- Data management
- Data stewardship
- Business intelligence
- Analytics engineering
- Data platforms
- Metadata management
- Master Data Management
Candidates with experience in large or global organisations may also be well positioned because the vacancy involves governance across an international business environment.

Permanent Contract
The position is offered on a:
Permanent contract.
This distinguishes it from short-term data consulting or temporary analyst assignments.
Candidates looking for a longer-term career move within data governance and transformation may therefore find the opportunity particularly relevant.

Final Thoughts
The Senior Data Analyst Remote UK Job 2026 – Earn Up to £90,000 headline refers to an Investigo-listed opportunity for an experienced data professional interested in data governance, data quality and modern cloud data platforms.
However, applicants should note two important corrections to the supplied vacancy.
The position is not advertised as fully remote. It uses a hybrid model requiring three days per week in Egham.
Secondly, the advertised salary is £55,000 to £65,000 per year, rather than £90,000.
The role is permanent and focuses heavily on Snowflake, data governance, data-quality frameworks, metadata management and stakeholder engagement.
Experience with Informatica CDGC, Informatica CDQ, dbt and Master Data Management is described as highly advantageous, while knowledge of frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK can strengthen a candidate’s suitability.
