The King’s Commonwealth Fellowship Programme (KCFP) Undergraduate Fellowships support talented students from Commonwealth Small Island Developing States (SIDS) to gain undergraduate qualifications in areas important for national development.
The programme is designed to strengthen local skills and create opportunities for young people to contribute to the development and resilience of their communities.
Selected Fellows can receive full tuition fees where these are not covered by government funding, a stipend for basic living costs, and one return ticket to their home island for each year of study where applicable.
Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants must:
- Be citizens or recognised refugees from one of the 24 eligible Commonwealth SIDS.
- Begin undergraduate study between January and December 2027.
- Not already hold a higher education qualification, including a bachelor’s degree or postgraduate qualification.
- Select an undergraduate programme included in the approved programme list for their chosen KCFP Host University.
Eligible countries include countries across the Caribbean and Americas, Indian Ocean and Pacific regions, including Fiji, Jamaica, Mauritius, Seychelles, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

Available programmes include fields such as public health, nursing, education, environmental health, engineering, geomatics, town and country planning, occupational safety and tourism management.
Applicants must study at an approved host university in their home country. Where there is no approved host university in their country, study may be undertaken at an approved university within their immediate region.
Fellowship Allocation
A total of 11 King’s Commonwealth Fellowships are available through this undergraduate pathway.
Seven fellowships are reserved for applicants from Dominica, Grenada, Kiribati, Nauru, Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu. Four additional fellowships are open to applicants from all 24 eligible Commonwealth SIDS.
Applicants from the seven ringfenced countries will be considered for both the reserved fellowships and the open competition if they meet the requirements.
Applicants from indigenous communities are particularly encouraged to apply, although belonging to an indigenous community is not an eligibility requirement.
