The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking diaspora experts who can contribute knowledge, skills, and professional experience to institutions in North Macedonia as the country progresses toward European Union accession.
The initiative forms part of the project Leveraging the Potential of Diaspora to Advance EU Accession and Labour Mobility in the Western Balkans (2025–2027).
Fellowship Opportunity
Selected experts may support institutions through knowledge transfer, advisory assistance and capacity development related to EU integration.
Potential assignments may include short-term expert visits, lectures and seminars, mentoring of civil servants, advisory support and remote participation in consultations or expert groups.

Applicants must be of North Macedonian origin and have temporary or permanent residence outside North Macedonia, regardless of citizenship.
Relevant experience can include work with EU institutions, EU Member State administrations, universities, research centres, think tanks, civil society organizations or experience supporting EU accession processes.
Useful expertise includes EU acquis, legislative alignment, public administration reform, policy analysis, monitoring and evaluation, human rights, gender equality, migration, digital transformation and institutional coordination.
