The role is remote and open to candidates based in any Relief International country of operation, ideally between the UK and Jordan time zones. The position may involve up to 20% international travel.
The successful candidate will provide strategic financial oversight and donor compliance support across programme and award lifecycles, working with country finance teams, programme teams, awards management and partnerships.
Tasks
Responsibilities include:
- Acting as a finance business partner to assigned Country Offices.
- Reviewing and developing proposal budgets and budget narratives.
- Supporting Go/No-Go funding discussions and financial risk assessments.
- Monitoring budget-versus-actual performance and financial forecasts.
- Supporting multi-year budgets and funding forecasts.
- Ensuring compliance with donor regulations and financial policies.
- Participating in portfolio and award management reviews.
- Supporting audits, risk mitigation, and grant close-outs.
- Training and mentoring country teams on financial management and donor compliance.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
Applicants should have a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
Experience
Candidates should have significant experience in programme finance, grant financial management and donor-funded awards, preferably within an INGO or non-profit environment.
Experience with donor compliance, proposal budgets, award financial management, budget modifications, financial reporting and institutional donor requirements is important.
Strong analytical, communication, and Microsoft Excel skills are required. Experience with Oracle NetSuite, donor reporting templates and grant monitoring systems is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Arabic and/or French is an advantage.
