Secours Islamique France (SIF), an international humanitarian NGO, is inviting applications for a Security & Safety Officer based in Kismayo, Somalia. The successful candidate will oversee security and safety management for SIF operations in Somalia and Kenya.
Reporting to the Head of Mission, the officer will support humanitarian access, assess security risks, coordinate emergency responses and help ensure staff comply with organisational security procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct security risk assessments and monitor threats across Somalia and Kenya.
- Develop and update security plans, standard operating procedures and evacuation arrangements.
- Build relationships with local authorities, community leaders and humanitarian organisations.
- Coordinate staff movements and ensure compliance with security procedures.
- Deliver security briefings, inductions and staff training.
- Manage security incidents and support crisis response.
- Prepare security reports and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor compliance with safety standards and supervise security providers when required.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Security Management, International Relations, Political Science or a related field.
- At least five years of relevant security management experience, preferably with an NGO or humanitarian organisation.
- Strong knowledge of Somalia’s and Kenya’s political, cultural and security environments.
- Experience working in high-risk or conflict-affected settings.
- Knowledge of risk assessment and humanitarian access.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital mapping and security reporting tools.
