Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Conduct policy-oriented research, literature reviews, data collection, and evidence synthesis.
- Support the preparation and quality assurance of Human Development Reports and other publications.
- Analyze human development indicators, datasets, and statistical information.
- Coordinate strategic partnerships with governments, research institutions, donors, UN agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Support partnership agreements, collaborative research projects, and outreach initiatives.
- Assist with resource mobilization, donor engagement, and preparation of concept notes and briefing materials.
- Organize consultations, workshops, seminars, conferences, and policy events.
- Prepare presentations, reports, briefing notes, infographics, and communication materials.
- Contribute to the overall work programme of the Human Development Report Office.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- A Master’s degree in Economics, Development Studies, Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, or another relevant social science discipline.
OR
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline plus two additional years of qualifying professional experience.
Training in data analysis, statistics, or applied research is considered an advantage.
Professional Experience
Candidates must have:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree, or 4 years with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience combining policy research with partnership engagement.
- Experience working with international organizations, governments, research institutions, or multi-stakeholder partnerships.
- Experience supporting conferences, workshops, consultations, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working with data, indicators, and evidence-based policy analysis.
Required Skills
Successful applicants should demonstrate:
- Strong understanding of international development policy and human development.
- Knowledge of human security concepts.
- Excellent analytical research and report-writing skills.
- Ability to engage with governments, academia, donors, civil society, and international organizations.
