Study in the USA Without SAT

Students searching for ways to study in the United States without taking the SAT should carefully review the admission requirements of each university and programme.

The supplied source focuses specifically on Chamberlain University, a US institution offering nursing and healthcare-related programmes. It does not provide a list of multiple SAT- or ACT-test-optional universities.

Chamberlain University Admission Requirements

Chamberlain University states that applicants must submit a completed application, transcripts from previously attended institutions, and any additional documents required by their programme.

For pre-licensure nursing applicants, the university states that applicants may submit valid HESI A2, TEAS, ACT, or SAT scores. These results are considered valid for five years from the test date.

However, applicants who do not have valid prior test results are required to schedule and complete the HESI Admission Assessment (A2) with Chamberlain University.

This means that, based on the supplied source, Chamberlain should not be described as completely test-free.

Other Admission Requirements

Applicants may also need to provide:

Previous academic transcripts
Programme-specific documents
Drug screening
Background and fingerprint checks

Post-licensure applicants must provide proof of a current, active RN licence from the United States or an eligible NCSBN associate-member jurisdiction.

Graduate nursing applicants also have specific RN licensing requirements, while MSN Nurse Practitioner provisional applicants must complete an NP assessment.

International Students

International students should check the specific admission and programme requirements that apply to them before applying.

The supplied source does not provide enough information to establish which Chamberlain programmes are available to international students without SAT or ACT scores.

Applicants should therefore contact Chamberlain’s admissions team and review the requirements for their intended programme.

Important Note About SAT-Optional Claims

Although the headline refers to “Top SAT or ACT Test-Optional Universities,” the supplied source does not provide evidence for a ranking or list of such universities.

It only provides Chamberlain University’s admission information. Furthermore, applicants without valid prior HESI A2, TEAS, ACT, or SAT results may be required to complete the HESI A2.

Students should therefore verify each university’s current 2027–28 requirements rather than assuming that all US universities have the same testing policy.
