As climate change increasingly affects public health systems worldwide, UNFPA has expanded its focus to better understand the relationship between environmental change, demographic trends, and reproductive health outcomes. Rising temperatures, prolonged droughts, extreme weather events, and climate-related disasters can negatively affect maternal health, fertility, access to reproductive healthcare, and the resilience of health systems.
Through this consultancy, UNFPA aims to conduct a comprehensive National Climate Impact Analysis on Reproductive Health. The study will investigate the direct relationship between climate stressors and reproductive health indicators while generating practical recommendations to strengthen climate-responsive health policies and programmes.
Working remotely, the consultant will conduct advanced quantitative analysis using national datasets, examine trends over approximately the past decade, and produce evidence-based recommendations that support government institutions and development partners in designing more resilient reproductive health systems.

Tasks
The consultant will lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive climate and reproductive health research project.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing an inception report outlining research objectives and methodology.
