This internship supports the Global Strategic Partnerships Manager in establishing and nurturing partnerships with media, arts, gaming, sports, music, TV, and film production companies. The intern will focus on identifying new opportunities and developing creative partnership approaches aligned with global advocacy priorities for child rights. By engaging stakeholders in the entertainment, media, and digital industries, the intern aims to amplify advocacy efforts and raise awareness of critical issues affecting children worldwide.

In addition to fostering new collaborations, the intern will assist in managing existing partnerships as needed.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Global Strategic Partnerships Manager with ongoing initiatives with sports partners, including:
    • Supporting global communication and advocacy strategies with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) concerning child safeguarding.Finalizing and sharing the 4-year global partnership strategy between UNICEF and the International Cricket Council (ICC), aligning with the advocacy team for adolescent girls.Creating the global communications, advocacy, and resource mobilization strategy with UNICEF & Inter Miami CF.
  2. Deliverables:
    • Drafting the global communications & advocacy strategy for proposal to the IOC.
    • Supporting UNICEF & ICC’s Criiio4Good programme in Bangladesh for the Cricket World Cup, focusing on adolescent girls.
    • Refining the Global Partnership Strategy Framework by July/August.
  3. Support the Global Strategic Partnerships Manager in initiatives with TV/film and the arts, including:
    • Maintaining relationships with partners such as Paramount, SONY, and Warner Brothers/New Line Cinema.
    • Mapping partnership opportunities in Hollywood, Bollywood, the UK, and South Africa, aligned with UNICEF advocacy priorities.
    • Initiating discussions with potential partners, such as the American Museum of Natural History and Salone de Mobile, on supporting humanitarian contexts.
    Deliverables:
    • Supporting cause-related marketing campaigns to incorporate UNICEF’s advocacy messages.
    • Developing a partnership map for media opportunities aligned with UNICEF’s advocacy priorities.
    • Exploring potential advocacy partnerships with the American Museum of Natural History and Salone de Mobile.
  4. Stay updated on research trends and consumer insights in the media, arts, and entertainment industries related to potential collaboration on UNICEF’s global advocacy work.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Enrolled in or recently completed a graduate or Ph.D. program in international relations, global studies, media, journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong academic performance demonstrated by recent university records.
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years old.
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
  • Additional consideration given for past relevant experience.
